The City of Lancaster’s Office of Public Art solicited local artists to display work to be exhibited in two glass enclosed cases located on the south side of the Lancaster Amtrak Train Station concourse. This project allows selected artists or artist groups to have a dedicated display for three months. The Lancaster Area Woodturners Club was among those honored to display for the three-month period starting May 7, 2024, ending August 7.
The Lancaster Amtrak Station is the second busiest Amtrak station in Pennsylvania, boasting an annual ridership of nearly 600,000 in the last fiscal year. The station’s display cases have historically served as a mode for celebrating local artists and arts organizations through an annually scheduled rotation of exhibitions.
