Yesterday, the 4th, was a great day for LAW woodturners. Mike Peace, of Mike Peace Woodturning joined the weekly coffee hour to discuss turning chess pieces. Check out our Coffee Hour Posting for Week 47 to see Mike’s amazing contribution, and do not miss his outstanding collection of videos posted on YouTube.
Later in the evening, at the generous invitation of the Nittany Valley Woodturners, we were able to watch Dennis Belcher from his studio in Hampstead, NC showed a series of techniques that take the curse of a crack in our projects and turn it into an artistic opportunity. His presentation flows from an article he wrote for the AAW’s American Woodturner in the August 2015 edition, which was a survey of techniques used by woodturners across the country to deal with a crack. More on Dennis and his techniques can be found at Sea Breeze Woodworking – Home (dennisbelcher.com).
Much thanks to Mike Lebo & the Nittany Valley Woodturners!
